Not to sound cliche, but how is January over already? I hope you all are having a great and productive start to 2018.
I am participating in Lauren Hom's weekly challenge, HOMwork, and it is really helping me to create, and to push my work. This week's assignment was to recreate one of our first pieces to measure our progress since we started lettering.
Let me just say, I fall victim to the comparison game way too often. I see so many artists' amazing work on Instagram and Pinterest that I will psych myself out of things. This project was such an eye-opener for me though. Looking back on a piece I was so proud of at the time versus what I can do now — it gave me the dose of confidence I needed. This lyric is from a JohnnySwim song, and it is one of the most beautiful and meaningful lyrics I've heard.
Not to sound like an inspirational pinterest quote here, but you really can only compare yourself to you, yesterday. Keep practicing, working hard and doing you. That is what will make you happy and help you improve not only in art, but in everything you do.

I truly cannot thank you all enough for following along and supporting me. I'm excited to see my progress next year :)
